De’Arne Liddell

Client Liaison Officer VCA

I joined the Royal Australian Air Force at 17 on a spontaneous whim, and those 12 years as an EDPOP/CISCON gave me not just a career but a deep sense of belonging and friendships that still anchor me today. After leaving the RAAF, I backpacked solo through Europe, which sparked my lifelong love of adventure and exploration.

My career since has taken me through a range of roles—Executive Assistant, Family Liaison Officer, Community Support Worker, and Suicide Prevention Officer—all centred on supporting people and being of service. Today, as Client Liaison Officer at VCA, I feel like I’ve come full circle. I get to connect with participants, support our programs, and contribute to the heart of the Timor Awakening community. I’ll soon step into mentoring on retreats, something I’m genuinely excited about.

Outside of work, my greatest joy is my daughter Molly. I also love escaping off‑grid for fishing, camping, sunshine, and laughter. At my core, I’m a people person—happiest listening, helping, and walking alongside others who trust me with their stories.
