Welcoming De’Arne Liddell to Veterans Care Association
De’Arne Liddell with friends from TA33 in Jarrahdale, WA
Veterans Care Association is delighted to welcome De’Arne Liddell to our team as she begins her new role with us in September 2025.
De’Arne brings with her an extraordinary blend of service, compassion, and experience. After completing 12 years of dedicated service in the Royal Australian Air Force, she built a meaningful career in community support, working with Lifeline, Inclusion WA, and the prison system. Through these roles she has walked alongside people in some of life’s most challenging moments, providing crisis support, mentoring, and guidance.
Her journey with Veterans Care began earlier this year when she joined our pilot Western Australia program in June. As a participant, De’Arne experienced first-hand the power of the Veterans Care approach — peer-to-peer connection, healing, and hope. Inspired by what she discovered, she felt called to continue this journey with us.
From September, De’Arne will join the Veterans Care team in a part-time capacity, playing a vital role in program delivery and client support. With our sights set on running two Western Australia programs in 2026, De’Arne is strategically placed to help make this vision a reality. Those who have already submitted an expression of interest to join an upcoming program can expect to hear a friendly voice from her soon.
Her blend of military service, crisis response expertise, and mentoring experience will be an incredible asset as we continue to grow our work in WA and beyond. Most importantly, her compassion and lived understanding of the veteran journey will strengthen the support we are able to offer those who walk through our doors.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to De’Arne as she embarks on this new chapter with Veterans Care Association and our Timor Awakening programs.
